Efforts towards marriage equality for gays and lesbians have been part of the Slovenian gay and lesbian movement since the very beginnings. We have seen declarative demands for legal equality, were faced with the adoption of compromise laws on registered partnerships, as well as struggles to win referendums on being part of the family code. Politics has been using this topic and the LGBT+ community to fight their cultural and economic fights. They are mobilising voters into it and slowly normalising an unacceptable and discriminatory differentiation in the law, namely introducing only partial set of rights in the field of marriage and family life for gays and lesbians.
On how this struggle is changing society, politics as well as the LGBT+ community and movement: Bogdan Lešnik, Nika Kovač, Miha Lobnik, Simon Maljevac with their host, Nikolai Jeffs.
