From 16 to 24 October 2018 I attended the Training of Facilitators (ToF) of Erasmus+ Youth as a trainer of Ljubljana Pride Pool of Trainers. The training had the support of the Slovene Erasmus+ agency MOVIT and was organized by Programa Erasmus+ Juventude em Ação (Erasmus+ Youth in Action Programme Juventude, Portugal). 25 trainers, youth workers and facilitators from 15 EU countries attended the training in Vila Nova de Gaia, Porto, Portugal. Study visit in Romania

Study visit in Romania

As a part of the Inclusive Erasmus+ Project, we are preparing for the next study visit – this time in Romania. Four of our volunteers will spend 6 days in November (4th – 9th) in Bucharest, together with participants from Portugal, Finland and Scotland. After uncovering how to be more inclusive towards people with different religious beliefs, gender identities, LGBTIQ+ identities and different (dis)abilities, this visit will focus on inclusivity towards people coming from non-urban areas and specifically Roma people. During the project, different Romanian associations will present their work and methods. In the end of the study visit, the[...]
Culture of Humiliation in the European Parliament

Culture of Humiliation in the European Parliament

In June 2018 the European Youth Foundation presented a poster exhibition featuring best practices from projects they supported in 2017 and Culture of Humiliation was one of these best practices. Every year the European Parliament organises a European Youth Event bringing together between 5000-8000 young people from all around Europe. During the project we organised over 10 workshops and over 15 exhibitions of powerful poster art around Slovenia, addressing (cyber)bullying based on sexual orientation and/or gender identity; and still more to come!
Jessica Lima: Ljubljana Pride

Jessica Lima: Ljubljana Pride

What’s your name and age? My name is Jessica Lima, and I’m 25. Since when have you been involved with Ljubljana Pride? I’ve been involved with Ljubljana Pride since 2016. Why do you think Ljubljana Pride is important? Ljubljana Pride is important because more than a parade, we are an association that is very much politically active throughout the year: we also organise workshops, international trainings, fundraisers, and other activities related to youth work, even though our most visible event is the parade within the Pride festival, in which we also host debates, roundtables, workshops, etc… Since we position ourselves as an anti-racist[...]

Pride Fundraiser in Vienna

Pride Fundraiser in Vienna

As Pride Parade Association we started fundraising in 2016, which quickly became an indispensable part of our activities. So far, we had fundraisers traditionally organized in Ljubljana, in clubs Tiffany and Monokel. This year, for the first time, we organized the fundraiser for the Pride Parade in Vienna, in cooperation with the Club of Slovenian Students in Vienna – KSŠŠD (http://www.ksssd.org/). We visited Vienna with Cabaret Tiffany’s Giovanna Serrano and Luca Scadi. After their performance warmed the atmosphere, the program continued with a speech by Simona Muršec, president of the Pride Parade Association, who briefly presented the work and activities[...]
